WordPress Consulting
WordPress consulting helps you understand the consequences of a technical choice before committing to it. I review options, costs and maintenance needs with you, whether you are planning a new site or changing an existing one.
Discuss your WordPress decisionDecisions we can work through
A theme, plugin or hosting change can affect the rest of the website. Replacing a page builder, for example, may require existing content to be rebuilt. We first establish the scope of the decision and the evidence needed to make it.
I consider whether an existing product meets the need, whether custom development is justified and who will maintain the result. Your team’s working habits and the parts of the site that already work well matter too.
- Page and feature planning for a new site.
- Assessment of themes, plugins and hosting requirements.
- WooCommerce integrations and development scope.
- Priorities for performance, security or SEO reviews.
- Technical debt and maintenance responsibilities.
Start with a specific question
Tell me where visitors get stuck, which task your team handles manually or what a screen fails to do. Concrete examples make it easier to assess the problem than a broad request to improve the website.
A website address and a short summary are enough for the first message. If temporary access is needed later, I explain the required permissions. Do not send passwords through the enquiry form.
An agreed plan of action
Within the consulting scope, I summarise the findings and the order of work. Each recommendation explains its purpose, dependencies and any missing information.
That might mean setting up backups and a test environment before considering a theme change. If your developer will implement the plan, we agree on the technical detail needed in the handover document.
Advice and implementation are separate scopes
Consulting provides assessment and decision support. Coding, migration and substantial repairs require additional work and can be quoted separately.
Fees depend on the subjects, preparation and documentation required. A single decision may need a short engagement, while a store with many integrations calls for a deeper review.
Common questions
Do I need to commission a new website?
No. Consulting can cover an existing site, a project in progress or a plan that has not started. The assessment takes account of what you already have.
Can my own developer implement your recommendations?
Yes. We agree on the documentation and technical detail at the start. Implementation and any follow-up support are separate arrangements.
Will you recommend a particular theme or plugin?
Recommendations depend on the site and its requirements. Licence costs, vendor support and compatibility are part of the assessment, rather than a fixed list of products for every project.
Will the problem be fixed during the conversation?
Some decisions can be resolved in the meeting. Repairs that need investigation, testing or code changes require an implementation scope. We clarify that expectation before the consultation.
What are you trying to decide?
Send the site address and the question you need to work through. I will explain the preparation required and the output we can agree on.
