WordPress Theme Installation
A theme demo gives you a starting point. Your own copy, images and navigation will need a considered setup. I install your chosen WordPress theme and arrange the agreed pages around the content you actually want to publish.

Before installation, I review the required plugins, page builder and licence terms. We consider the features you will use and the effort needed to maintain them. A theme for a simple business site may not suit a store.
If you have not purchased a theme, send the examples you like. We can discuss ownership of the licence and renewal costs before you commit. Any theme purchase is identified separately in the proposal.
What the installation includes
I set up the theme, its required plugins and the agreed appearance settings. If we use demo content, we select the relevant layouts and replace sample material before launch.

Changing the theme on an existing site
Shortcodes, custom fields and builder layouts from the old theme may need attention. I review these dependencies before changing the live site and use a test copy where possible.
We back up the site and check important pages, menus and URLs before release. If page addresses need to change, the required redirects are included in the agreed scope.
Agreeing the scope and handover
Page count, available content and additional setup affect the quote. Custom features, translation and store changes are listed separately when needed.
At handover, I explain where the main settings and content can be edited. You should be able to manage routine changes and understand how the installation is organised.
Common questions
Can you review a theme before I buy it?
Yes. Send the demo link and the features your site needs. We can assess its content layouts, builder requirements, licence and ongoing maintenance.
Can I keep the images from the demo?
Only if you have the necessary rights. A theme licence may not include its demo images. We should use your own assets or images with verified usage rights.
Will changing the theme delete my posts?
A theme change normally leaves posts in place, but their display and theme-specific fields can change. I review the existing setup and plan the transition with a backup and test work.
Can every part of the theme be changed?
Changes within the theme settings are part of configuration. Designs or features beyond those settings may require custom development, which we agree before work begins.
